Payments should be mailed to City of New Bern, P.O. Box 63005, Charlotte, NC 28263-3005.
In Person
Payments are accepted at the Customer Service office located at 606 Fort Totten Drive (in the old First Citizens Bank
Building at the intersection of Fort Totten Drive and Broad Street.) The
office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Customers are
encouraged to always bring their bills and will need their bills to use
the express drive-through service at the side of the building.
Drop Box
A drop box is located near the drive-through
at the Customer Service office on 606 Fort Totten Drive. The drop box
may be used at any time. Envelopes are provided; please include payment
stub coupon or at least furnish account number with payment. The box is
opened once daily at 8 a.m. Therefore, payments put in the box after that
time will be credited to your account the next business day.
By Internet and Telephone
Internet and telephone payments
by credit or debit card are accepted on behalf of the City by Official Payments Corp. A small convenience fee will be charged by Official Payments for this service. To make
a payment by phone, call 1-800-272-9829 or to make a web payment visit www.officialpayments.com. You will need to enter jurisdiction code 3964 and provide your two-part account number (include the dash in between) and the amount you want to
pay as well as your credit/debit card information.

**NOTE** If your service has been interrupted or is in jeopardy of being interrupted, you must call Customer Service during normal business hours at 252-639-2750 with your payment confirmation number to reinstate service. If outside of normal business hours, call Utility Control at 252-636-4070 with the payment confirmation number. Normal business hours for Customer Service is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please note all payments entered under jurisdiction code 3964 are paying for City of New Bern utilities. If you want to pay your City tax bill, you must hang up and place the call again using jurisdiction code 4304. If you want to pay your county taxes, you must hang up and place the call again using the county's jurisdiction code. You may refer to your county tax bill or contact the County Tax Office at 252-636-6605 to obtain their jurisdiction code.
