Residential inspections are conducted, upon request, for individuals who are pursuing a state license for operating any of, but not limited to, the following facilities: Assisted Living Homes, Group Homes, Alternative Family Living Homes (AFL), Adult Day Cares, or Child Day Cares. Inspections are conducted initially to ensure that all federal, state, and local requirements for Fire and Life Safety are met; then on an annual basis thereafter.

A $25 inspection fee is required prior to each of the residential inspections listed above. Payment can be made in person, or mailed to New Bern Fire-Rescue, P.O. Box 1129, New Bern NC 28563-1129.  Appointments will be scheduled upon receipt of payment. On most occasions, inspections can be scheduled within two business days of receipt of payment. The following forms are provided for your benefit as a review prior to the inspection.
