A majority of New Bern Fire-Rescue personnel are either medical responders or Emergency Medical Technicians. This enables us to assist the local Emergency Medical System (EMS) with lifting assistance, cardiac arrest, and motor vehicle incidents. EMS Continuing Education classes are offered monthly through our Training Division, which enables personnel the ability to maintain their required certification hours. This service is above and beyond normal requirements, and enables us to better serve the citizens of New Bern.
