This division provides, once per week, curbside collection for Leaf & Limb/White & Brown Goods Collection, to all residential units within the City of New Bern. This service not only provides a beneficial service to our residents, but has been used to benefit recycling efforts, through making mulch available at no cost to individuals wanting to pick up mulch at our yard waste site off Country Club Road near the Pembroke Exit. City residents can have mulch delivered to their homes for a fee; payable to the Administration Office of Public Works, 300 Pollock Street, (252-639-7501), before delivery can be made. Please view our Residential Collection Guidelines & Route Map Schedule which help us better serve our 10,500+ customers, in an efficient and cost effective manner.

As a symbol of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen’s commitment to a “litter free community,” this division operates the Litter Vacuum machines throughout the city on a daily basis to help drive home the message “Bear in Mind in New Bern ... If you Litter you Lose.” This machine picks up litter along street rights-of-way and provides cleanup assistance for special events sponsored by the City of New Bern.
