Police Explorers Program

What are the Explorers?

The Explorers are a division of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women of high school age. The Explorer Post recruits members, elects officers, and plans programs based on need and Post capability.

What will a law enforcement Explorer do?

Examples of Police Explorer service include:

  1. Crime prevention
  2. Assisting the needy
  3. Security checks
  4. First aid
  5. Assist motorists
  6. Receive complaints
  7. Assist in locating missing persons
  8. Provide geographic directions

Law enforcement Explorer Post participate in a variety of programs and projects featuring training, skills development, community service, and having fun.

Who should be a member of the Explorers?

Young men and women who are interested in:

  1. A law enforcement career
  2. Building social skills
  3. Learning leadership skills
  4. Improving mental and emotional fitness
  5. Working outdoors
  6. Firearms safety
Requirements are:
  1. 14 and completed 8th grade - 20 years of age
  2. No criminal history
  3. Graduated or in school
  4. If under 18 parental approval
