The New Bern Police Department is a firm believer in the success of Community Policing as well as citizen participation in keeping their streets and neighborhoods safe. There are Neighborhood Watch Groups throughout the city, and we welcome you to join the one in your area. If a Neighborhood Watch Group does not exist where you live, we want to help you set one up. Below is list of communities and the District where they are located.

Q: How do I know if there is a Neighborhood Watch Group where I live?
A: If your neighborhood is highlighted in the above list, click on the name and you can e-mail the New Bern Police Officer responsible for that watch group.
Q: What if my neighborhood is not highlighted or is not listed?
A: That means there is either no Neighborhood Watch Group in existence or it has become inactive.
Q: How do I start a Neighborhood Watch Group?
A: 1. Find out which district of the city you reside in. (Click for Map)
2. Contact Lt. Matthews for District 1 or Lt. Lovick for District 2.
