Don't see a community watch group in your neighborhood and want to start one?

We want to help you set one up!  If your neighborhood is not on the list above, that means there is no established Neighborhood Watch Group or the one in your area has become inactive.

To start a Watch Group, find out what Police District you live in by clicking here for a Map.  Then contact Lt. Ryland Matthews for District 1 or Lt. Ronnie Lovick for District 2.

If you are interested in working on joint projects or sharing ideas with other Community Watch Groups or to receive future issues of the Newsletter, please contact Danielle Glynn at neighborhoodwatch.citywide@yahoo.com.

New Bern National Night Out

Now in its 27th year, this nationwide event brings awareness to crime, drug and violence prevention.  It has been held annually in communities around the United States since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).

New Bern's National Night Out Committee, in partnership with New Bern Police, organized this local event with countless volunteer hours.  We celebrated "community" and brought 3,000 people together to have fun.  Information was available for 40+ community service organizations that participated in support of health and safety.  Three hundred bookbags filled with school supplies were given away and over 200 child identification kits were handed out.

We greatly appreciate the generosity of all individuals and organizations that contributed to making this possible.  It was a night that celebrated safety and crime prevention successes and strengthened relationships for the next 364 days.

We hope to see you at next year's event.  Save the date:  August 2, 2011.

New Bern's National Night Out Committee

New Bern was recgonized as a National Award Winner by the National Association of Town Watches for outstanding participation in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 National Night Out.
