This is a new event for Eastern North Carolina. This race will use the same course as the Run for Shelter did in May 2005, and the Run for Merci did in June 2005. Both races start and finish at the Sheraton Grand Hotel.

The 1-Mile fun run is the first race of the day starting at 8:30 a.m. The featured 5K begins at 8:45 p.m.

The entry fee for either race is $12, ($15 after October 3rd). T-shirts will be guaranteed to all entrants who are registered by October 3. After that, they will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The 5K awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall, and to the first three finishers in each of the following age divisions: (both sexes) 19-under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60-over.
