Historic Preservation Commission 

Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Courtroom, Second Floor, 300 Pollock Street. 

HPC Design Review meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Development Services Conference room, 303 First Street.

What is the Historic Preservation Commission? 

The HPC will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Courtroom, 2nd floor, located at 300 Pollock Street.

MEETING AGENDA:

1. Opening of Meeting with Roll Call
2. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting(s)
3. New Business:

A. 400-600 Block, Queen St.—to include road and sidewalk improvements in the primary AVC (this is an after the fact COA request).
B. 411 Johnson St. AMENDMENT—to include a request to install a 6” wooden privacy fence in the secondary and tertiary AVC’s.
C. 1220 National Avenue—to include a request to install wooden balusters & balustrades, a metal standing seam roof with a ridge cap vent, and the removal of metal handrails in the primary, secondary and tertiary AVC’s (this is an after the fact request).
D. 214 Pollock St. AMENDMENT—to include a roof addition, deck enclosure, installation of wood and glass French Doors, relocation of two 2/2 windows, and installation of lattice in the tertiary AVC.; removal of concrete steps and installation of wooden steps in the primary AVC; removal of a chimney in the tertiary AVC.
E. 706 Craven St.—to include the construction of an accessory structure in the tertiary AVC.
F. 415 S. Front St.—to include the installation of a mechanical unit, an attached breezeway, metal door, wooden deck, and wooden ramp in the tertiary AVC.
G. 218 Pollock St.—to include an addition in the tertiary AVC.

4. Administrative Updates and Minor Works

A. 242 Middle St.-- to include the removal of a portion of concrete and curbing in the tertiary AVC and replacement with asphalt
B. 512 E. Front St. -- to include the installation of a mechanical unit in the tertiary AVC.
C. 502 Pollock St.—to include the installation of an appropriate freestanding sign and pervious concrete pavers.
D. 223A Craven St.—to include the installation of an appropriate wall sign with lighting.
E. 236-238 Middle St. –to include the installation of canvas awnings.
