Volunteer Opportunities

The  New Bern Police Department benefits greatly from volunteers who support the daily functions, special projects and goals of the department.

The New Bern Police Department Citizen Volunteers is a North Carolina non-profit that supports administrative functions and program sustainability within the New Bern Police Department. They also assist with other Community Policing Programs such as our summer camp called PACTEAM and a year-round program for older youth called Project Positive Focus.

Our volunteers also work and help as:

  • Court liaisons
  • Accounting
  • Forensics
  • Recruitment programs
  • Special Event Assistance
  • Police Chaplains
  • RUOK? Program
  • Traffic Control

There are currently more than 50 people serving as volunteers. With their support, we're able to provide you with higher quality services and programs.

If you are interested in becoming a New Bern Police Department Citizen Volunteer, please contact Sergeant Ben Lewis at (252)672-4284 or by email.
